To support its sales, the well-known biscuit manufacturer relies on the services of the renowned management information systems consultancy. It is Griesson - de Beukelaer's aim to supply biscuit lovers all over the world with their favourite biscuits - with traditional specialities, but also completely new, innovative products. The tempting sweet biscuits or crispy, salty snacks always offer complete enjoyment in the finest, consistent quality. The manufacture of products that meet the highest standards has always been the cornerstone of Griesson - de Beukelaer's corporate philosophy.
The aim of the project was to develop a sales planning system that covers the very specific and individual planning processes in the Griesson - de Beukelaer company. Planning was to be possible using various key figures such as sales, turnover, costs and conditions. Another component of the project was the implementation of a distribution of sales over weeks as a basis for precise production planning in SAP-APO, as well as the planning of distribution.
As a long-standing CIM-OLAP customer, Griesson-De Beukelaer did not want to do without the familiar structure of Cubedimensions in their planning. Nevertheless, the software was to master all the advantages of data entry and maintenance. The challenge was to integrate the different technological requirements into one software. With the front-end tool arcplan enterprise, the different requirements could be perfectly covered. The flexible development interface, which can display cube structures and data as well as be used as an input tool, made it possible to integrate CIM-OLAP. In addition, input functions on hierarchy levels could be realised in the same masks. The distribution of data to subordinate elements takes place in the database and is also available to the user in CIM-OLAP for analysis after processing. An important success factor in the implementation has proved to be above all the ease of use, which increases acceptance among the staff. The intuitive user interface enables quick access to the entire planning process.
From installation to application took 35 days. The flexibility of the development software and the competence of the antares consultants clearly spoke in favour of customising the software. The expectations of antares were even exceeded: User requirements and additional wishes were implemented during development, taking technical restrictions into account.
