For the love of sport is the motto of INTERSPORT Deutschland eG, which stands for enthusiasm for daily use. The German and Austrian INTERSPORT form the largest association within the INTERSPORT Group. Today, the group has more than 900 retailers in Germany, who provide their customers with service, advice and an extensive range of sporting goods in more than 1,500 specialist shops. With a 2.85 billion euro share of sales (2014) in the approximately 8 billion euro German sporting goods and sports fashion market, INTERSPORT is the most successful group in the industry. INTERSPORT Deutschland eG is headquartered in Heilbronn.

Before the introduction of the antares RiMIS® software, risk management at INTERSPORT was mapped using an Excel solution. After many years of using the Microsoft version, which was relatively complicated to operate, INTERSPORT looked for a suitable and flexible software in 2012 that would fit the company and best cover all requirements.

After an intensive selection phase, INTERSPORT decided in favour of antares RiMIS®, as the software had the highest degree of congruence with the requirements.

The flexibility of the settings was an important factor in the decision-making process. No less convincing was the high customer-oriented service level right from the start. The direct line to support and development helps to incorporate new requirements into the standard.

The preconceived processes come from practical experience and are also flexibly adaptable. A software solution needs a "red thread" and this is exactly where RiMIS® comes in. A wizard guides you through the individual menus. At the end of the entries, the issue is approved and the workflow continues. Of course, the responsible risk manager has the largest selection of evaluations and must have the broadest overview. The users have a clear and necessary set of relevant menu items for their work.

The introduction of a new way of working is often met with reluctance. This made it all the more important to train the employees - with support from antares.

It is not necessary to introduce a system in its entirety. It is much more important to build on a system that offers easy handling and is target-oriented. The web-based application ensures authorisation-controlled access.

Of course, an introduction and the subsequent application always require a transition period, but then the processes become more consistent and time-effective.

A structure of subsidiaries and participations can be optimally mapped in the system and could be integrated without any problems. The results of the risk recording are stored in an audit-proof manner and cannot be changed afterwards. Changes can be tracked directly in the risk or in the event log file at any time. As part of the regular use of the software, risk management at INTERSPORT is consistently further developed & optimised. The software solution helps to support this process with numerous evaluations.
